We can't wait to welcome 80 RECF Achieve teams to the Mountain State for one of the season's premier events.
Mountain State Mayhem is a collaboration between the West Virginia Robotics Alliance and Kanawha County Schools. Both our organizations have a history of running high-quality robotics tournaments, and we are thrilled to join forces to provide one of West Virginia's best-ever robotics competition experiences.
Our venue is the Charleston Coliseum – the preeminent entertainment arena in West Virginia. The Coliseum plays host to world-class concerts and sporting events and offers a dome-like experience for teams and spectators, in an accessible and affordable city an easy day's drive from much of the eastern US.

Teams should load and unload their vehicles on Clendenin Street, between the Coliseum and the Town Center Mall. From there, enter the Coliseum's Clendenin Street Lobby. Teams can roll their equipment along the step-free path to the Coliseum floor, and spectators can proceed upstairs to the Mezzanine level to access the stadium seating.
Parking will be available in the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center's Quarrier St Garage. Detailed maps showing the locations for loading, unloading, and parking will be sent to all teams in the lead-up to the event.
In-Person Notebook Submissions
Engineering notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
First-Come, First-Served Team Interviews
Initial team interviews will be conducted in a separate judging area adjacent to the pits. Each team should report to the judging area at their convenience for their initial team interview. The judging area will be open from 11 AM - 12 Noon and 1 PM - 5 PM on the first day of the event only. Teams that do not report to the judging area during the opening times will be considered to have waived their opportunity for an interview.
