FIRST LEGO League Challenge

Friendly competition is at the heart of FIRST LEGO League Challenge, as teams of students ages 9-14 engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering - building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game.

Our Support

The WV Robotics Alliance coordinates with schools, universities, and other partners to provide equipment, staffing, and support for scrimmages throughout the state, which are generally held between November and February. The WV Robotics Alliance also coordinates the West Virginia FLLC State Championship, which is held in March at the Fairmont State University Falcon Center.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge is presented by FIRST, a US-registered 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. FIRST’s mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
