Our hands-on robotics camps are 5-day programs focusing on fundamental building and programming skills, games, and fun challenges. Each camp will provide information on age appropriate competitions and how to get involved and stay engaged in robotics. Camps are staffed by Fairmont State ERC staff and college interns sponsored by the WV Space Grant Consortium, and hosted at Fairmont State University.
This year we are offering a single full-day camp for students ages 9-12. Students will build, program, and drive VEX IQ robots in a series of fun challenges, as well as additional activities with aerial drones, 3D printing, and more.
The camps are a basic introduction to the platforms, so no experience is required. Coaches looking for guidance for more experienced students should reach out to schedule a coach/team training.
June 22-26: Fairmont State University, Fairmont
July 20-24: Fairmont State University, Fairmont
Space is limited, and we will cover the same material in each camp. We do not recommend signing up for both camps.
NEW FOR 2026: Each camp is 5 days in length, Monday through Friday. There is no parent meeting on Monday evening. All parent information and expectations will be communicated via email before the camp.
We suggest an optional donation of $150 per student to cover our costs. This includes a morning and afternoon snack, use of robots, tablets, and all materials. Campers must bring their own lunch.
Donations will be collected at drop-off on the first day of the camp. We can accept cash or checks made out to Fairmont State University.
Registration will open Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 12:00 noon EST. At that time, a link to the registration form will be available below.
